About this Workshop:

Join us for a fun evening learning decorative art techniques for a floral bouquet with renowned sculptural botanical artist and teacher, Keith Stanley. During the workshop students will create a floral “collar” for a bouquet of fresh flowers by manipulating cardboard, wires, and paper. Students will manipulate the constructed form with paper and leave with a beautiful bouquet of flowers to enjoy or share with a friend.

Level: All levels welcome!

Registration extended to December 10, 2023. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class. Students may need to gather/purchase additional materials for class (see the materials list below). This list will also be provided with the registration confirmation email.

CLASS MATERIALS LIST:

Registration includes a $32 materials fee to cover consumable materials provided in class, including paper, wire, glue, and, of course, beautiful live flowers! Students may also want to consider bringing the following optional items:

  • Personal scissors for paper (we’ll have extras in class)
  • Notepad and pen for taking any notes

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Keith Stanley is a Washington, D.C. floral designer and educator. He’s also a resident of Capitol Hill. For 39 years he has worked in retail and special event floristry, and also doing demonstrations and workshops. Currently he is a Teaching Coach for the European Master Certification program (a floral design school in based in Bruges, Belgium), which he graduated from in 2016. He earned the International Master Florist accreditation from Gregor Lersch at Boerma Institute In March 2022. In addition he is a certified teacher for the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. Structural botanical design is his passion, and recently has created large scale works for the 2022 Floralien in Ghent, Belgium and Hoogstraten Groeten and Blomen in Hoogstraten, Belgium.
