About this Workshop:

Are you curious about what pulp paint is and how to use it in your handmade paper practice?  Join us for this Make+Take and you’ll gain and understanding of how to mix colors of pulp paint and how to create veils and layers of color in pulp paint on your sheets of handmade paper. 

Level: Beginner – no experience necessary

Registration closes December 4, 2023 and includes all materials.

CLASS MATERIALS LIST:

Registration includes all materials. Students may want to consider bringing the following optional supplies:

  • Personal apron (waterproof recommended, but even a cooking apron will do  – you will get wet!)
  • Shoes with good tread (water-resistant/proof recommended – the floor will be wet and can get slick in spots)

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Marta Pérez García was born and grew up in Puerto Rico. She has an MFA from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and has lived in Washington, DC for more than 10 years. Marta mainly works in printmaking, but also works in drawing, painting, and installations. Her pieces have been exhibited in galleries and museums in the United States and Puerto Rico, and she’s received numerous grants and awards. Marta is deeply involved with the arts and their propagation in the communities of the District through the teaching and direction of public art projects.
