Join us for a fun printing evening learning about the basics of printing relief blocks for Mother’s Day! Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the carving process then choose and print any of the prepared relief blocks created by instructor Jun Lee! Create something special for a Mom in your life (Mother’s Day is May 12th!), or something fun to keep in touch with other friends and family. Students will leave with a small set of printed cards as well as a fun tote bag to keep or gift. No experience necessary—just join us for lots of inky fun!
Level: Beginner – no previous experience necessary

Jun Lee is a printmaker who works in large format woodcut utilizing animals as metaphors to convey competition in our daily lives. Lee is a DC Art Bank Grant recipient from 2019–2022, awarded by the Government of DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. She was the Printmaking Artist in Residence at the Lee Arts Center (VA, 2014–2021), Montgomery College Takoma Park/Silver Spring (MD, 2018), the winter resident at Penland School of Crafts (NC, 2017–2020), and the Denbo Fellow at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center (MD, 2017). Lee attended the Minneapolis College of Art & Design where she earned a BFA in Illustration in 2002, and a Post Baccalaureate in Printmaking in 2004. In 2007, She received her MFA in Print Media from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Lee’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and she has taught printmaking classes at multiple locations.
