Pulp painting takes so many forms; let’s open up the possibilities! This workshop invites students to experience diverse techniques and create several pieces using the medium of hand-pigmented colored pulp. Experimenting in both 2D and 3D, learn about various pulp mixtures that work for different purposes; create painterly wet-in-wet layered pulp washes; cut and use stencils to repeat and register color shapes for an edition of prints; draw with colored pulp—and more.
Level: Intermediate—Introduction to Hand Papermaking or similar experience (6 hours) is required for this workshop. Knowledge of sheet-forming is necessary.
Registration closes March 15, 2023. Material fees are included with your registration, though a list of additional items needed to be gathered/purchased will be sent with your confirmation.
