About this Workshop:

Are you interested in taking screenprinting on fabric to the next level? In this workshop, you will learn how to register and print multiple colors, how to mix transparent base into ink to create overlays of color, and how to ‘unhinge’ the screen and print large. You will leave with 2 yards of bespoke printed fabric, a screen of your own, and the skills to do it again.

Level: Intermediate—Introduction to Screenprinting on Fabric (or Paper) or similar screenprinting experience (6 hours) is required.

Registration closes June 15, 2024. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class. Students will need to gather/purchase additional materials for class (see the materials list below). This list will also be provided with the registration confirmation email.

CLASS MATERIALS LIST:

Registration includes a $60 materials fee to cover consumable materials, including ink, tape, newsprint, emulsion and cleaners. It also covers the purchase of a new screen for you to take home to continue experimenting with multi-color layerings. Students will also need to supply additional materials of their own, including:

  • Personal silkscreen – this second screen is in addition to the one included with material fees (you’ll need a total of two for class). If you don’t have a second screen, please contact us – Pyramid can loan one for class use or you can purchase an additional new screen from us for $45.
  • (optional) Personal apron – or wear clothes that can get inky (we’ll have extra aprons handy)
  • (optional) Notebook or sketchbook for taking notes
  • Fabric – tea towels, t-shirts, any flat fabric works well (should be clean and ironed before class)
  • Image(s) to work with – more guidance will be provided in the confirmation email
