Hyattsville, MD – Friday, November 8th join Pyramid for its Rock’n Shop’n event. The evening features early gift-giving (and receiving) inspiration from over 20 local artists, music on vinyl from the collection of The Wax Altar, an exhibition of Houston-based artist Carlos Hernandez’s rock n’ roll screenprints and, and a live performance from rockabilly band The Rock-A-Sonics.
Rock’n Shop’n takes place on Friday, November 8th from 6:30 – 11:30. People can come and go as they please throughout the event. Artist studios, pop-ups, and the shop will be open from 6:30 – 10 pm and the band performance begins at 9. Tickets are $10 – 15 and include a complimentary beverage.

THE WORK OF CARLOS HERNANDEZ
In Pyramd’s gallery, guests can explore over 40 prints from Houston-based artist Carlos Hernandez. Hernandez reproduces familiar visual images and rearranges them into new, layered works often with added hand-drawn elements. The results are high-voltage graphic prints with retro grit. Music features prominently in the work, and many prints are just $50.
THE ROCK-A-SONICS

The Rock-A-Sonics exciting mix of atomic-age rock ‘n’ roll, classic country, rockabilly and rhythm & blues has been filling dance floors since 2014. This Maryland group has played rockabilly festivals in Las Vegas, Spain, New England, Florida and Nashville and perform regularly all throughout the mid-Atlantic. They record for Swelltune Records.
THE WAX ALTAR

Based in Hyattsville, this internet radio station offers a very eclectic mix of tunes all curated from a lifelong collection of vinyl. Its curator will be spinning some of his favorite rock n‘ roll to keep people in the groove while browsing.
