Pyramid Atlantic Art Center is raising money for an expansion of its gallery space.
Located at 4318 Gallatin St. in Hyattsville, the nonprofit received a $45,000 grant from the Maryland Historical Trust and Anacostia Trails Heritage Area to expand its gallery space.
The grant requires the nonprofit raise funds to match, and an anonymous donor has already contributed $35,000. But it’s looking to raise the remaining $10,00 from small donors.
The grants will help make a permanent gallery space inside with gallery lighting storage, ultraviolet-window protection and moveable walls, allowing it to be used for exhibits, workshops, classes, meetings and other events.
