Want to learn more about unique additive processes like flocking, gold leaf, and paper dying to add some extra flare to your screenprints?
In this intermediate workshop, students will learn four unique additive and decorative processes: flocking, paper dying, gold leaf, and puff paint. Students can use these materials/processes to embellish and add a stylistic flare to their screenprint projects. Each session will be spent demonstrating one or more of the techniques, then students will have ample time to practice and experiment under the instructor’s guidance.
Level: Intermediate – Introduction to Screenprinting on Paper (or Fabric) or similar screenprinting experience (6 hours) recommended.
Registration extended to March 5, 2024. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class. Students may/will need to gather/purchase additional materials for class (see the materials list below). This list will also be provided with the registration confirmation email.
Materials: A $35 materials fee is included to cover most consumables provided in the workshop, including flocking, gold leaf, adhesive, dyes, and puff additives. In addition, students will need to gather/purchase the following supplies for class:
Eliza Clifford is a designer, educator, and multidisciplinary artist from Bethesda, Maryland. She earned a BFA in Graphic Design, Printmaking, and Book Arts along with a Certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019. Her work explores ideas of womanhood, mental health, gender, and how identities are constructed (and destructed). She explores these ideas through many mediums, including printmaking, illustration, book arts, textiles, and installation. Eliza has worked as an art instructor at Pyramid Atlantic, the Arlington Arts Center, and Arts on the Block.
