About this Workshop:

Are you interested in learning the basic tools of Adobe Photoshop? Do you have a flatbed scanner and are wondering how to use it to make art? Well, then this is a workshop for you! Students are introduced to Adobe Photoshop through the process of Scanography. Scanography or Scanner Photography, is a cameraless photography process of capturing images using a flatbed scanner. Students will learn how to create good initial scans by arranging objects on a scanner and record the materials. After recording a range of items, students will then learn how to seamlessly combine the objects into Photoshop. We will walk through how to use Photoshop tools such as: Layers; Layer Masks; Adjustment Layers; Free Transform ; Quick Selection ; Magic Wand; Object Selection ; Pen ; Lasso; Layer Opacity; Move; Select-Color Range; and Clipping Masks.

Level: All levels are welcome – no previous experience with Adobe Photoshop necessary

Registration extended to February 2, 2023.  With your registration confirmation you’ll receive the full materials list (with helpful links) to purchase your items, any initial handouts about the process, as well as a quick 1-page “how-to” guide to using the Zoom video app.
