About this Workshop:

In this workshop you will learn how to take your designs from sketches to computer layouts to letterpress printed pieces. Day 1 will provide an overview of the design and set-up for creating and ordering photopolymer plates. Students will then meet on Day 2 for their selected print session (10am-12pm; 1pm-3pm; or 3pm-5pm), which will cover basic press operation, set-up and printing with photopolymer plates, and finally creating a small edition with their individual plates.

Level: IntermediateFamiliarity with Adobe products is preferred, but not required (demonstration uses both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator). No letterpress experience required.

Registration closes December 28, 2021.  Information about how to prepare and have plates printed will be provided during the Zoom portion of the workshop. A materials fee has been included with your registration to cover paper and ink for the in-studio session.

Class Materials List:

Registration includes a $5 materials fee to cover paper and ink for the in-studio session. Students will need to supply additional materials of their own, including:

    • Personal photopolymer plate (details provided in session 1 via Zoom)
    • Pencil/paper for notes
    • Personal apron (substitute: wear clothes you don’t mind getting ink on)

Your Instructor:
