About this Workshop:
Bridge aspects of painting and printmaking as an expressive way of creating unique prints. In this two-part workshop you will explore painterly techniques using oil-based ink, brayers, rags, and paintbrushes to build rich, textured images on a smooth plate. By working in layers and experimenting with transparency, you will leave with both fully saturated impressions and ghost prints that capture the subtle transformations between each layer.
You will learn how to prepare both your paper and plexiglass plate for best practice; clean printing techniques, and the basics of color mixing with ink.
Level: Beginner—no previous experience necessary
Registration closes January 14, 2026. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class. Students may/will need to gather/purchase additional materials for class (see the materials list below). This list will also be provided with the registration confirmation email.
