Natural Fabric Dyeing Drop-in at Driskell Park

All members of the Hyattsville community are invited to help celebrate the Park’s renaming and honor the park’s new namesake, David Driskell.

The Neighborhood Design Center, working with the City of Hyattsville, is coordinating a day-long event to mark the dedication of David C. Driskell community park. The event will feature an outdoor gallery of Driskell’s work with guided tours by the Phillips Collection, nature walks led by Bradley Site Design and Julie McGee, a panel discussion moderated by former Mayor Candace Hollingsworth, a kids’ art activity inspired by masks in Driskell’s work led by Art Works Now, and community weaving and natural dye workshops led by Pyramid Atlantic. An asphalt mural will be community painted in the days leading up the event.
