An In-Studio Workshop!

Wednesday, December 21, 7-9pm

View our current in-studio Health and Safety Policies >>

About this Workshop:

Put on an apron and prepare for a fun evening learning letterpress! Make+Takes are the perfect way to try letterpress before jumping into a full-length workshop. Customize with your design to give as a fun gift, use during holiday parties, or keep for yourself.  During this session, we’ll guide you through the process of simple typesetting and printing your coasters, using a prepared phrase and then one of your own! Everyone will have a chance to print their small edition of coasters.

Level: All levels are welcome – no experience necessary

Registration closes December 13, 2022 and includes all materials.

CLASS MATERIALS LIST:

All materials are included – just come ready to have fun! Students may want to bring the following optional items:

  • Personal apron, or wear clothes that can get messy
  • Pencil and paper (if you want to take notes)
  • A few ideas for your personal coaster set – a simple word or very short phrase is ideal.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Sara Blumberg loves creating designs through all aspects of letterpress printing. She fell in love with the art after taking an introductory printing class at Pyramid two years ago. During the day Sara works as a design and content strategist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. focusing on ocean missions. Most evenings you can find her making new designs or trying new color combinations in the studio. Before letterpress, Sara worked as a journalist in Baltimore.
