Want to make your own leather journal? In this class we will be using leather to create a small, soft cover journal using the long stitch. This is a versatile stitch with many variations, and it makes a fantastic foundation for more complex stitches.
Level: Beginner – All levels welcome!

Krista Sharp, a native Oklahoman and a member of the Cherokee Nation, has lived and worked in the Washington, D.C. area for over 23 years. She is a book artist and an award-winning graphic and web designer currently working at the Smithsonian Institution. In 2016, Krista graduated from Corcoran School of Art and Design with a Master of Arts degree in Art and the Book. Her book and print work uses multiple printmaking processes and explores unique structural elements. Krista’s art can be seen in many collections and institutions across the country including the Art Institute of Chicago’s Flaxman Library, the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian’s Dibner Library.
