About this Workshop:
Flocking is a process that involves laying down short, thin fibers on an adhesive to create a textured velvety surface. Come and learn how to create mesmerizing colored flocked patterns and shapes in this 2 hour Make and Take! This class is great for beginners as well as advanced students who want a new technique to add to their screenprinting toolbelt.
We’ll have a variety of images pre-exposed and ready to choose from and mix-and-match to maximize your printing time.
Level: Beginner – no experience necessary!

Registration includes all the materials you’ll need for class. Students may also want to consider the following optional items:
- (optional) Personal apron (we’ll have extras) or wear clothes that can get messy
- (optional) Pencil and paper for taking notes
YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
Eliza Clifford is an arts educator, printmaker, and multidisciplinary artist from Maryland. Her work explores ideas of womanhood, mental health, gender, and how identities are constructed (and destructed) in modern day society. As a multidisciplinary artist, she experiments in a variety of mediums, including printmaking, book arts, design, alternative photography, natural dyeing, and quilting/sewing. Clifford has worked and taught at the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, the Women’s Studio Workshop, the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington, Arts on the Block, and the Metropolitan Center for Visual Art (VisArts). She has been an artist in residence at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, the Remarque Print Workshop, and the Penland School of Craft. Clifford has been featured in exhibitions at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, the Washington Printmakers Gallery, the Baltimore Fine Print Fair, the Morgan Conservatory, the Torpedo Factory Art Center, and Kent State University.
