About this Workshop:

Have you been admiring rainbow gradients? This is your chance to print with them! In this workshop you will be able to print a small edition of mini posters of a word of your choosing on one of the Vandercook Presses in the letterpress studio.

We will ink up both presses in a different rainbow gradient and learn about basic typesetting with our oldest wood type. After typesetting our words, we will take them over to the presses and print them! We’ll then end the workshop with cleaning the presses together.

Level: Beginner – no previous experience required

Registration closes October 10, 2023 and all materials are provided.

Registration includes all materials—just come ready to have fun! In addition, you may want to bring the following items for class:

  • A favorite word or two you’d like to consider for your edition prints
  • (optional) Personal apron (we’ll have extras) or wear clothes that can get inky
  • (optional) Notepad/pencil if you’d like to take notes

She was a Keyholder Resident for Fall/Winter 2021 before joining as a Letterpress Associate at Pyramid Atlantic. Pulling her first prints in 2015 she fell in love with copperplate etching straight away. Later she wandered into a letterpress studio in Amsterdam and got obsessed with wood, metal, and heavy machinery. You can find her in the letterpress studio smelling the ink.
