About this Workshop:

In this multi-day workshop, participants will create an edition of saddle stitched books/magazines. Participants will develop and typeset their content, from poetry to abstract designs. We will break it down into reader spreads and print and bind a small edition.

Level: Intermediate: Introduction to Letterpress on the Vandercook or Tabletop, or equivalent letterpress experience (6 hours), required.

Registration closes May 24, 2024. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class. Students may/will need to gather/purchase additional materials for class (see the materials list below). This list will also be provided with the registration confirmation email.

  • Notebook or sketchbook to take notes (optional)

Lauren Emeritz loves letters but not spelling. When she found out graphic design existed she signed right up! After loving that for a while, she wanted to get off the computer and get her hands dirty. Letterpress combines all her favorite things: type (especially wood type), paper, ink, creativity / problem-solving and making things by hand. You can find her on the interweb at abstractorange.com.

“Lauren is always so patient and positive. It was so fun that 3 very different books were made.”

“I made something physical! It looks really flippin’ good, honestly! It’s 80% because of Lauren!”
