This six-hour workshop will introduce you to the basics of bookbinding, including appropriate materials and tools needed to make your own notebooks, journals, or albums. Book structures taught will be a sewn double-pamphlet journal, drum leaf binding, and various single-sheet folded book structures. Additionally, you will learn how to properly cover boards for hard-covered books, the tools needed in a basic bookbinding tool kit, and concepts to consider when designing book content and structures. By the end of the course, you will be able to adapt these three structures to suit your needs, as well as have a strong foundation for furthering your bookbinding skills.
