About this Workshop:

Ready to move beyond a one-color screenprint? In this silkscreen workshop, you will learn to design and register multi-layer prints. You will use overlapping layers to expand the color range of a print and continue to explore screenprint’s creative possibilities.

Level: Intermediate—Introduction to Screenprinting on Paper (6-hour workshop) or similar screenprinting experience is required.

Registration closes December 2, 2022. Material fees are included with your registration, though a list of additional items needed to be gathered/purchased will be sent with your confirmation.

CLASS MATERIALS LIST:

Registration includes a $60 materials fee to cover consumable materials, including a new screen for you to take home to continue experimenting with multi-color layerings.

In addition, students are requested to bring the following items:

  • Personal silkscreen – this second screen is in addition to the one included with material fees (you’ll need a total of two for class). If you don’t have a second screen, please contact us – Pyramid can loan one for class use or secure an additional new screen for $35.
  • Personal apron, or wear clothes that can get a bit inky
  • Pencil and paper (if you want to take notes)
  • High contrast, black and white images to work with (more specific details will be provided at registration)

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Adi Segal is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of visual arts and community. She started at Pyramid as a Keyholder Resident and stayed on to serve a term as a Screenprint Associate. She holds a BFA in printmaking and photography from SUNY Purchase, and a BA in art history and education from Brown University. When not making art or exploring DC playgrounds with her children, Adi is working on her Masters in Social Work degree. Learn more about her work at www.adisegal.com.
