About this Workshop:

Are you interested in taking screenprinting on fabric to the next level? In this workshop, you will learn how to register and print multiple colors, how to mix transparent base into ink to create overlays of color, and how to ‘unhinge’ the screen and print large. You will create a couple of yards of bespoke printed fabric and have a screen of your own with the skills to print again. You will also gain a solid knowledge of how and where to source printing equipment and materials, how to prepare your personal artwork for screenprinting, how to heat set a printed image, and how to care for your fabric.

Level: Intermediate – Prerequisite of Introduction to Screenprinting on Fabric (6-hour workshop) or similar screenprinting experience is required.

Registration closes September 16, 2022. Material fees are included with your registration, though a list of additional items needed to be gathered/purchased will be sent with your confirmation.

CLASS MATERIALS LIST:

Registration includes a $60 materials fee to cover the purchase of a new screen and other consumable materials used in class including ink, newsprint, and transparent base. Students will also need to supply additional materials of their own, including:

  • Fabric – tea towels, flat fabric, curtains
  • A sketchbook and pencil or pen for note taking
  • An apron or smock (or wear clothes that can get inky)
  • Image(s) to work with – more guidance will be provided by your instructor
