Illustrating with Procreate Online, July 2022

July 26, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$200.00

A 4-Day Online Workshop!

Tuesdays, July 26, August 2, 9, and 16, 6pm-8pm ET via Zoom

About this Workshop:

In this four-session online workshop, you will learn how to use unique prompts to create illustrations using Procreate on the iPad, how to practice and experiment drawing techniques with a variety of brushes and techniques, and will work alongside a dedicated cohort to critique and improve on your drawings. This class will work best for artists who have a basic understanding of fundamental drawing techniques and principles (ex. form, shape, line, color). Prompts will be randomly selected, and will be designed to challenge your conceptual and technical skills in a fun way.

Level: Intermediate – previous drawing experience is recommended

Registration closes July 17, 2022. With your registration you’ll receive the full materials list (with helpful links), any helpful handouts about the process, as well as a quick 1-page “how-to” on downloading and using the Zoom video app.

You may mute your microphone or turn off your camera if you do not wish to be recorded. Access to the recording(s) will be made available to all participants for a limited time.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Dominick Rabrun is an artist, teacher, writer, producer, director, and general maker of things. His work seeks to link and explain the fragmented sections of his unique life and experiences. On a personal level, much of his worldview was shaped by his status as a First-Generation immigrant, childhood trauma, and growing up in a deeply conservative Christian household. On a professional level, much of his processes were shaped by 12 years of experience working as an IT specialist for the US government. Top these off with natural inclinations towards technology, video games, biology, music, and art education; at the intersection of all these points, you get Dominick’s artistic practice. His art is first and foremost an attempt to create a language or system wherein he can compartmentalize all of his competing inspirations. He finds that allowing them a space to inform and interact with one another serves as his greatest catalyst for creative inspiration and evolution.
