About this Workshop:

Build on your introduction to bookmaking skills! In this intermediate bookmaking class, you’ll learn the process of binding a hardcover, flat-back, closed-cover book with hand-sewn endbands. You’ll begin by sewing together your pages to create a book block, then build the separate, hard cover case. The two will then be combined, creating an economical and professional looking hardbound book.

Level: Intermediate – Introduction to Bookmaking (6 hours) or similar experience with bookbinding techniques required.

Registration closes March 6, 2026. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class. Students may/will need to gather/purchase additional materials for class (see the materials list below). This list will also be provided with the registration confirmation email.

She is in her final year at the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation and is currently interning at the Library of Congress.
