About this Workshop:
Discover the craft and creativity of letterpress in this comprehensive 6-week, hands-on workshop. Whether you’re new to printing or looking to sharpen your skills, Fit 2 Print will guide you through the essentials: setting metal and wood type, carving linocuts, mixing bold, layered colors, and running the press with confidence.
Along the way, you’ll learn expert tips for inking, registration, and creating cohesive designs that bring type and image together beautifully. The series wraps up with a finished portfolio of prints that showcase your technique, style, and imagination—truly Fit 2 Print.
At the end of class, you’ll be able to:
- Set metal and wood type with precision
- Mix and manage ink for color and consistency
- Operate a Vandercook press safely and effectively
- Carve and print linocuts
- Plan and produce a cohesive, colorful print series
- Maintain and troubleshoot presses
Level: Beginner—No prerequisites required. Perfect for true beginners, those looking to refresh their skills, and those looking to build skills in new and experimental techniques.
Registration closes January 4, 2026. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class.
