February Bookmaking Happy Hour 2022

Join us for Bookmaking “Happy Hour,” an open studio session where book makers receive guidance from one of Pyramid’s Book Arts Associates on their personal bookbinding projects and have full access to the bindery equipment: paper guillotine, board shear, book presses (standing and backing), and the Kensol gold foil stamper. Each session starts with a brief demo on a specific technique, fold, or stitch. Previous bookmaking/foil stamping experience and RSVP are required. Reservation of the foil stamper is on a first come, first served basis and requires certification.

Happy Hours are not suitable for one-on-one instruction. For one-on-one instruction, please visit our lessons page. Happy Hour registrations close at noon the day of the session. For last minute openings/accommodations, please call: 301-608-9101. No walk-ins will be accepted.

Pyramid values the health and wellbeing of our artists, teachers, students, staff, and visitors. At this time, we are choosing to remain more conservative than many local ordinances and require mask wearing in all public spaces in the building. 

Taking an in-person class at Pyramid has potential for close physical contact between the students and teachers. As part of our commitment to providing a safe work environment and reducing the potential exposure or transmission of Covid-19, we request that on the first day of class you provide either proof of vaccination or proof of recent negative Covid-19 test results (within 72 hrs). If you are unable to provide these documents, please contact the front desk for a health screening questionnaire. Pyramid will offer a full refund to anyone at any time if they feel unwell or that they may put others at risk of exposure.
