This workshop will introduce the beginners to the technique of drypoint etching and how to integrate “chine collé” elements (a technique of combining tissue-thin paper with a larger, thicker paper support) to their prints. The students will learn how to prepare their plate, develop an image, plan out the printing and chine collé processes, learn various registration techniques, and obtain printshop maintenance lessons. This workshop is a foundation workshop to build upon more complex printmaking techniques and to generate creativity and enthusiasm for further printmaking studies.
Level: Beginner – no experience necessary
