Learn how to translate your drawings into a two-color screenprint in this two-day workshop! Students will practice and experiment with drawing techniques using a variety of media, and then gain an understanding of the ins and outs of Pyramid’s screenprinting studio.
On day one, Dominick Rabrun will lead students through simple drawing exercises and design conversations that will encourage the creation of designs that are bold, practical, and communicative of each individual’s vision. Students will have one week to continue to work on their drawings between sessions. On day two, Terence Nicholson will lead students through the process of transforming their drawings into a two-color screenprint. By learning how to ‘register’ colors and work with color transparency, the prints will have a unique depth and a level of sophistication. Students will leave with a small edition of 10 prints and an understanding of how to repeat the process.
Level: Beginner – no experience necessary!
Registration has been extended to October 3, 2022. Material fees were included with your registration to cover items supplied in class, including ink, paper, transparencies, drawing materials, and bristol board. Students will receive a small list of additional items to bring to class.
