About this Workshop:

Part of a new 4-part series! Take your drawings from flat to fully dimensional in this engaging workshop focusing on developing form in space. Designed for artists at any level, this course introduces essential techniques for translating a three-dimensional world into two-dimensional surfaces.

Through guided practice in observational drawing, students will explore how light, shadow, and proportion work together to create convincing illusions of depth and volume through line. You’ll gain practical skills to strengthen your visual perception, and elevate your artwork whether you’re refining foundational techniques or pushing your creative expression further.

Level: Beginner—Some experience with line (Part I of the series for example) is helpful, but not required. This short-form workshop is part of a series of foundational drawing classes that build on skill in succession, however they can be taken individually to inform your own skills wherever you’re at. There are no pre-requisites for any class in the series.

Registration closes October 17, 2025. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class. Students may/will need to gather/purchase additional materials for class (see the materials list below). This list will also be provided with the registration confirmation email.
