
DIY Screenprinting with Drawing Fluid

In this workshop, you will learn ways to create your own DIY screenprints at home out of household materials! You’ll learn how to use drawing fluid to create a direct stencil onto your screen and how to pull prints at home.
Level: All levels welcome – no previous experience necessary.
Registration closes May 31, 2022 to allow time for students to gather/purchase their materials. With your registration confirmation you’ll receive the full materials list (with helpful links) to purchase your items, any initial handouts about the process, as well as a quick 1-page “how-to” guide to using the Zoom video app.

- 5”-7” Plastic Embroidery Hoop
- 20”x20” 120 or 250 Screen Mesh
- Paintbrush
- Paint Palette
- Drawing Fluid
- Screen Filler
- Popsicle Stick
- Plastic Card (old membership card, bus pass) or Small Squeegee
- Screen Printing Ink
- Scissors or Knife
- Blue Block Tape
- Fabric or Cardstock
- Pinking Shears or Sewing Machine (if using Fabric)
- Sketchbook
- Pencil
- Hairdryer
- Lifters (old paper towel rolls)
YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
Selina Doroshenko (she/her, b.1990, Tio:tia’ke/Montreal) is a multidisciplinary artist with her output focused on pattern, text, and movement as slices of daily life. Her work is heavily influenced by her background in fiber and music. Deconstruction, abstraction, and elevating the everyday are paramount techniques in Doroshenko’s work. Doroshenko’s work has been shown internationally in Canada, Dubai, and the United States. She lives in Baltimore, Maryland on Piscataway and Nanticoke land with her rescue pup Ceej.
