An In-Studio Workshop!
In this two-session workshop, participants will learn how to create a collagraph plate and print (via intaglio and/or relief) it on all types of fabric.
On the first day, students will learn how to use found flat objects, modeling paste, sandpaper, and gloss medium in making a textured printing plate. Collagraph literally means to draw or write with glue, and so the construction of the plate will be almost like making a collage. The second class session will be spent learning various methods of inking the plates in both relief and intaglio inking techniques, and then move on to more advanced techniques such as stenciling, inking à la poupée, and multi-plate printing.
All levels welcome.
Registration closes December 1, 2021. Material fees are included with your registration, though a small list of additional items needed will be sent with your confirmation.
