Arts, Beats & Eats: An Open Studio Tour

Saturday, May 14th, 12 – 5 pm

This event is FREE and open to all ages.

Join Pyramid Atlantic and several other artist studios in the Gateway Arts District for an open studio day. Several artists at Pyramid will have their studios open for visitors. PLUS you can check out the Life Aquatic art exhibition in Pyramid’s Helen C. Frederick Gallery and try your hand at printing fish, Gyoutaku-style, in the Sea Monkey Castle.

Confirmed Open Studios as of 5/10/22:

Chelsae Blackman, Michael Booker, Amy Callner, Chase DeForest, Megan Haidet, Imar Hutchins, Annie Immediata, Cynthia Farrell Johnson, Trish Manzke, John Ortiz, Linda Rollins, and Gretchen Schermerhorn.

Please note, at this time masks are required inside Pyramid Atlantic.

RSVPs are recommended for the Gyotaku printing activity (example featured in the image to the left). Gyotaku is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish, a practice that dates back to the mid-1800s. This form of nature printing was used by fishermen to record their catches but has also become an art form of its own. We will be using plastic fish sculptures to replicate this technique.
