PYRAMID GOES BACK TO THE FUTURE TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARS IN HYATTSVILLE
HyBall: A Retro-Futurama is Saturday, April 25
(Hyattsville, MD) Pyramid Atlantic’s HyBall (Hyattsville Ball) asks people to rocket over to its studios for retro-futuristic fun. Beyond being its annual fundraiser, HyBall: A Retro-Futurama is also a celebration of Pyramid’s 10th year in Hyattsville! The event is a fun way to explore Pyramid’s studios, try printmaking, and experience an immersive art party.
HyBall: A RETRO-FUTURAMA takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 8pm -11ish. Tickets are $50 and include three complimentary drinks, a DIY gift bag, photo booth, dance party, and several surprises. Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory. The (assembly) line-up includes making art with Pyramid’s retro equipment to create a personalized gift bag, including black light screenprints, punch cards in letterpress, fortune telling folds in bookmaking, and thematic posters in the printshop. Grab the crew and visit the “photomat” to capture today for the tomorrows. Visit the “silent auction-o-matic” to indulge the future self while bidding on items and experiences from local makers and businesses. Hit the electro-boogie dance floor as RWEONTHEAIR?! spins her favorite vinyl records of soul, funk, disco, electro, techno, and house music amid silver-clad go-go dancers. Visit the Blade Runner themed bar for cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine. Plus, thematic treats, robot mix-and-match, costume contest, and surprises abound throughout the night.
Those with a long-lasting battery can add on the HyBall’s AFTERGLOW party for Karaoke hosted by David Bowie (or Bowie-oke?).
